論「三節為一指至不別分別」，釋頌不說三節以成一指意。以三指節為一指者，是竪三節，如今人指。

On the Śāstra's words, "Three joints form a finger [...] they are not differentiated": This explains the verse's intention in not mentioning that three joints form a finger. The three finger joints forming a finger refers to three vertical joints, like the fingers of people today.
