12.26

論「由此准知至與人天同壞」，此明第二畜、鬼壞。鬼本住處，即此洲下五百踰繕那。傍生在大海。言「各先壞本處」者，先壞畜生、後壞鬼趣。

On the Śāstra's words, "From this one can infer [...] are destroyed together with humans and gods": This explains the second, the destruction of animals and ghosts. The original dwelling place of ghosts is five hundred yojanas beneath this continent. Animals reside in the great ocean. Saying "each first destroys its original dwelling place" means first destroying animals, and later destroying the ghost destiny.
