「論曰至從過去大生」，釋頌文也。初一念是作俱無表，第二念已去是作後無表。作俱無表從現大生，後念無表從過大生。此雖云從過去大生，非是大種於過去世造現、未色。此是作俱大種住現在時，懸造未來諸念無表落過去世，現、未無表依之而起。

"The treatise says:... are born from past great [elements]." This explains the verse text. The first moment is the unmanifest simultaneous with action; from the second moment onward is the unmanifest subsequent to action. The unmanifest simultaneous with action is born from present great elements; the unmanifest of subsequent moments is born from past great elements. Although it says it is born from past great elements, it is not that the great elements in the past period derive present and future matter. Rather, when the great elements simultaneous with action abide in the present, they prospectively project the unmanifest of all future moments, which then fall into the past period, and the present and future unmanifest arises relying upon them.
