論「修斷意識至外門起故」，釋修斷意。轉外門起故，能為隨轉。

The treatise says: "The mental consciousness abandoned through cultivation ... up to ... because it arises via external gates." This explains the mind abandoned through cultivation. Because its operation arises directed externally, it can act as a concomitant.
