On the Śāstra's: "Is it not that touch and shape ... can remember the color of the flower?": The Sarvāstivādin rescues [his view]. Namely, touch and shape occur together in a single aggregate; therefore, because of grasping the touch that accompanies that shape, one can remember the shape seen by the eye, not that shape-color is also grasped by the body faculty. Just as seeing the color of fire brings to mind the warmth of fire, and smelling the fragrance of a flower can remember the color of the flower: could it be that the eye sees warmth, or the nose smells color?
