論「若有餘位至受異熟果」，釋位定之業不可轉故，障離染也。若於現受之餘，即是生、後定業。由業力故，必定無有永離染義。暫離染義，於理無違，後退容還生於此地；然非果位，不能生故。

From the treatise's "If there are other stages..." to "...experience ripening fruit," this explains that because karma determinate in stage cannot be diverted, it obstructs detachment from passion. If it is other than experience in the present, it is determinate karma of the next or subsequent lives. Due to the power of karma, there is definitively no principle of perpetual detachment from passion. Temporary detachment from passion does not contradict principle; upon regressing later, one may still be reborn in this stage; however, not being at the stage of the fruit, one cannot take birth [elsewhere].
