15.47

論「若爾彼人至具發七支」，重難也。如有先受二、三學處，不捨此善，後屠羊者，豈得七支？今詳此人不發惡戒，但得處中，不遍損惡意樂故。

The treatise says: "If so, then that person... generating all seven branches."
This is a renewed challenge. For example, if someone had previously undertaken two or three training rules and has not renounced this goodness, and later becomes a sheep butcher, how could they acquire all seven branches? Now, examining this: such a person does not generate bad precepts, but only acquires intermediate [action], because they do not universally impair wholesome motivations.
