18.13

「論曰至語表無表業」，此釋能破體。前問云：此能破人何所成就？答云「此能破人成破僧罪，誑語為性」，明十業道中是虛誑語。「即僧破俱生語表無表業」者，明成時也。

[On the passage of the] treatise, "[The commentary] says ... vocal manifest and unmanifest karma": This explains the essential nature of the one who causes the schism. The preceding question said: "What does this person who causes the schism possess?" The answer says: "This person who causes the schism possesses the offense of breaking the Saṅgha, which has deceitful speech as its nature," explaining that among the ten courses of karma, it is false speech. "It is the vocal manifest and unmanifest karma that arises together with the schism in the Saṅgha" clarifies the time of its accomplishment.
