On the treatise's: "Those in the world […] therefore the sūtra does not state it," this is the Vibhāṣā resolving the external objection, saying: "In the world, inversions of perception and mind are extremely well known, but an inversion of feeling is not spoken of. Conforming to worldly speech, it speaks of inversions of perception and mind, and does not speak of feeling." The Nyāyānusāra says: "Not so. Perception and mind, not being of the nature of deliberation, are also given the name inversion following the power of the inversion of view, because being associated with view, their aspects are identical. Yet feeling and the rest cannot be given the name inversion as perception and mind are, because there is a distinct cause: namely, when giving rise to the view of permanence and so forth toward the impermanent, one must necessarily apprehend the aspect of permanence and so forth in the object. That which is capable of apprehending aspects is perception and none other; hence the name inversion is established for it and not for feeling and the rest. Furthermore, the wisdom that remedies inversion is also given the name of perception: in the aspects of impermanence and so forth it is spoken of as the perception of impermanence and so forth; because wisdom and perception closely support each other, the name is established by association. Feeling and the rest are not like this. Through the power of the basis, there is inverted deliberation and superimposition, and grasping the aspect of the object is accomplished; hence mind is called inverted. As a sūtra says: 'Mind leads the world, drifting and sinking everywhere in the flood of defilements.'" The explanation says: Because view relies upon mind to have inverted deliberation and false superimposition, inversion is established. Mind, being the basis of inversion, is also called inverted.
