論「以記彼問言此不應記故」，答。此捨置言，非全無記，亦記彼問言不應答故。《正理》答此問云「以說此中如所應故，謂此亦說應捨置言，應置問中應言應置。若作餘語，記便不成（准此，亦有言也）。」

Regarding the treatise passage: "Because it answers that question by saying: 'This should not be answered'": this is the reply. This word 'setting aside' is not an utter absence of an answer; it also answers that question by saying it should not be answered. The Nyāyānusāra replies to this question, saying: "Because it speaks in this case according to what is appropriate; that is, it also speaks the words 'it should be set aside'. Regarding a question that should be set aside, one should say 'it should be set aside'. If one were to make other statements, the answer would not succeed (according to this, there are indeed words)."
