The Śāstra says: "Why is it called sabhāga... it is called tat-sabhāga." This is the third [section], explaining the meanings of sabhāga and tat-sabhāga. As for the statement "The three—faculty, object, and consciousness—interact with one another, hence it is called bhāga (part/share)", the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Bhāga means interaction; having this part in common, it is called sabhāga. What is interaction? It means that faculty, object, and consciousness interact with one another, which is the meaning of mutually conforming to one another." As for the statement "Or again, bhāga is one's own function", the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Or again, bhāga is one's own function; because of their interaction, it was previously said that if it performs its own task it is called sabhāga." As for the statement "Or again, bhāga is the contact produced", the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Or again, bhāga is the contact produced, because it arises relying on the interaction of faculty, object, and consciousness." As for the statement "Having this part in common, it is called sabhāga", this explains the word 'sa-' (common/same) and concludes. The *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Having this part in common, it is called sabhāga, which means having a function in common, or having contact in common." According to the text of the *Nyāyānusāra*, 'mutually interacting' is the general phrase, while 'function' and 'contact' are the specific phrases.
