20.84

論「若謂去來至非散亂故」，經部牒有部轉計破也。若謂去、來同現在有，但現在色極微聚集，未來、過去極微散亂與現不同，名為過、未者。汝緣過、未色時不取散相，故知不是聚、散有異。

The Śāstra says: "If they say that the past and future... because it is not scattered": the Sautrāntikas take up an alternative hypothesis of the Sarvāstivādins to refute it. If they say that the past and future exist identically to the present, but present matter consists of aggregated subtle atoms, whereas future and past subtle atoms are scattered and different from the present, and are thus termed 'past' and 'future'—when you cognize past and future matter, you do not apprehend a scattered aspect; therefore, we know it is not a difference of aggregation and dispersion.
