21.57

「論曰至無容起故」，明唯意識相應有三種：一見所斷；二慢、睡眠；三自力起隨煩惱地。此三種或五識無容起也。

On "The treatise says ... because there is no possibility of arising": this clarifies that there are three kinds associated exclusively with the mental consciousness: first, those abandoned by seeing; second, pride and sleep; third, the level of secondary defilements that arise by their own force. These three kinds of defilement have no possibility of arising in the five consciousnesses.
