論「已因便說至復生何道」，下大文第二就三道辨人。於中有三：一明見道、二明修道、三無學道。就見道中復分兩段：一明十六心、二依位建立。就明十六心中，一正明十六心；二明十六依地；三明忍、智次第；四明見、修道別。此三頌，第一明十六心也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Having already explained as an aside ... what path is generated next?": below is the second major section, distinguishing persons in terms of the three paths. Within this there are three: first, clarifying the path of seeing; second, clarifying the path of cultivation; third, the path of the non-learner. In clarifying the path of seeing, it is divided again into two sections: first, clarifying the sixteen moments of mind; second, establishing [the stages of persons] based on their standing. Within clarifying the sixteen moments of mind: first, directly clarifying the sixteen moments of mind; second, clarifying the grounds relied upon by the sixteen; third, clarifying the sequence of receptivities and knowledges; fourth, clarifying the distinction between the paths of seeing and cultivation. These three verses are the first [subdivision], clarifying the sixteen moments of mind.
