23.147

論「然道類智至所斷斷故」，通伏難也。難云：若道類智是修道者，何不如餘修道鈍根有退？答云：以任持見道所斷斷故，見道不退，此亦不退。

On the passage of the treatise from "Yet, because the cognition of the category of the path" to "sustaining the abandonment of what is abandoned by [the path of seeing]": This resolves a latent objection. The objection says: If the cognition of the category of the path is the path of meditation, why does it not, like other paths of meditation, admit of falling away for those of dull faculties? The answer says: Because it sustains the abandonment of what is abandoned by the path of seeing, just as the path of seeing does not fall away, so too this does not fall away.
