23.58

論「忍初安足至未來十六」，明忍位也。《婆沙》一百八十八云「問：何故忍初及後皆法念住？答：以忍近見道，故相似見道（述曰：然一切皆似見道）。」

The treatise says: "From the initial settling of acceptance ... up to the sixteen in the future." This clarifies the stage of acceptance. Vibhāṣā, fascicle 188, states: "Question: Why are both the beginning and the end of acceptance solely the mindfulness of phenomena? Answer: Because acceptance is close to the path of seeing, it resembles the path of seeing (The commentator remarks: However, all of them resemble the path of seeing)."
