23.74

論「聖依此地至遷生上地」，此下第九明其捨也。此明聖人失地捨，遷生上地，名為失地，是失煖等所依地也。如身在欲界，依初禪得煖，生初定時不捨煖也，生第二定名遷生上地。

On the Śāstra's statement: "An ārya supported by this bhūmi [...] is reborn shifting to a higher bhūmi": below, this ninth [section] clarifies their abandonment. This clarifies an ārya's abandonment by losing the bhūmi: being reborn shifting to a higher bhūmi is termed losing the bhūmi, which is losing the bhūmi upon which Heat and the others depend. For example, when a body is in the Kāmadhātu and obtains Heat dependent on the first dhyāna, when born into the first dhyāna one does not abandon Heat; being born into the second dhyāna is termed shifting and being born into a higher bhūmi.
