23.97

論「聲聞種姓至故說為餘」，釋頌云「三」，謂煖、頂、忍三。「餘」謂獨覺種姓，在佛乘外，故言餘也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Śrāvaka disposition ... therefore it is spoken of as 'the rest'": this explains that the verse says "three," meaning the three of warmth, summit, and receptivity. "The rest" refers to the disposition of a pratyekabuddha, which lies outside the Buddha-vehicle, and therefore it is called "the rest."
