24.138

論「如是有學至阿羅漢果」，總分學、無學為八人也。由向及果各有四故。此即以所成法向，果別，故說人別也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Such learners up to the fruit of the arhat": This summarizes the division of learners and non-learners into eight persons, because the paths (pratipannaka) and the fruits (phala) each have four. This means that because the attained dharmas of the paths and fruits differ, the persons are said to differ.
