[On the phrase of] the śāstra, "The treatise says: up to knowledge of liberation can be established," this explains the reason for establishing the name 'liberation' and the name 'knowledge'. Just as with many ropes, although many bonds are untied, if there is still a single bond, it is not called liberation; this clarifies how right liberation receives its name. "It is not that, in the absence of an essence of liberation, one can speak of having the knowledge of liberation"; this clarifies the knowledge of liberation.
