25.58

論「然喬底迦至阿羅漢果」，論主通經。有部謂喬底迦退應果重得。經部宗，喬底迦學位數退，深自厭等，臨命終時得阿羅漢果。

On the Śāstra's statement: "However, Godhika ... the fruit of arhatship": The author of the Śāstra harmonizes the sūtra. The Sarvāstivādins maintain that Godhika fell away from the fruit of arhatship and regained it. In the Sautrāntika tenet, Godhika fell away repeatedly in the stage of a trainee and, profoundly disgusted with himself and so on, attained the fruit of arhatship at the time of death.
