論「如契經說我說由斯所往四種增上心」，已下一行頌，第三明三退不同。四種增上心所，謂四靜慮。此問意：經說不動心解脫，退現法樂住，不動法果。今問因何不動退現法樂住？即以三退答。

Regarding the treatise text “As the sūtra says: ‘I declare that by this he attains the four higher minds’”: the following verse of one line is the third part, which clarifies the distinctions among the three kinds of falling away. The “four higher mental states” refer to the four dhyānas. The point of this question is: The sūtra speaks of “unshakeable liberation of mind, falling away from dwelling in pleasant abiding in the present life,” which is the fruit of the unshakeable phenomenon. Now it is asked: on what basis does an unshakeable one fall away from dwelling in pleasant abiding in the present life? It is then answered by means of the three kinds of falling away.
