論「修五通時至現未唯俗」，明異生修通，依根本四禪故。諸勝進道他心、俗智隨應現修。無間道起，非容預故，現、未俱俗。五加行道及神境、宿住二解脫，不唯緣心，故唯世俗。一解脫道，即他心智故，所以通二。

[On] the treatise's: "When cultivating the five superknowledges … up to: present and future are only conventional": this clarifies that an ordinary being's cultivation of the superknowledges relies on the four fundamental dhyānas. In all advanced paths, the knowledge of others' minds and conventional knowledge are cultivated in the present as appropriate. When the uninterrupted path arises, it is not relaxed, so both present and future are conventional. The five preparatory paths and the two paths of liberation of psychic power and past lives do not take mind exclusively as their object; thus they are solely conventional. The one path of liberation is itself the knowledge of others' minds; therefore it encompasses both.
