論「根本靜慮至近眷屬故」，明依根本地修餘功德也。非他心智故，現唯俗智。根本地故，亦修他心。唯決擇分見道眷屬，同見道故，不修他心。

[On] the treatise's: "Fundamental dhyānas … up to: because they are close retinues": this clarifies relying on the fundamental stages to cultivate the remaining merits. Because they are not the knowledge of others' minds, the present [cultivation] is solely conventional knowledge. Because they are fundamental stages, they also cultivate [the knowledge of] others' minds in the future. Only the aids to penetration (nirvedha-bhāgīya) are retinues of the path of seeing; because they are identical to the path of seeing, they do not cultivate [the knowledge of] others' minds.
