論「修神境等至不依無色」，神境加行思輕、天眼思光、天耳思聲以為加行，成已自在，隨所近遠皆能身往及見、聞等。此等以無加行，故無五通也。

The Śāstra states: "Cultivating supernormal power and so forth up to does not rely on the formless realm," the preparatory application for supernormal power takes contemplating lightness, for the divine eye contemplating light, and for the divine ear contemplating sound as their preparatory applications; once established with mastery, whether near or far, one can go with the body, see, hear, and so forth. Because these lack preparatory application [in the formless realm], there are no five supernormal knowledges [there].
