論「非天眼通至死生智名」，答也。謂天眼通力所引起，有別勝智，是通眷屬，知意業等未來世事，與天眼通合立死生智名。

The Śāstra states: "It is not the supernormal power of the divine eye … the name 'knowledge of death and rebirth' is applied." This is the answer. It means that, brought about by the force of the supernormal power of the divine eye, there is a distinct, superior knowledge that is the retinue of the supernormal power and knows future events such as mental karma; together with the supernormal power of the divine eye, it is collectively designated by the name "knowledge of death and rebirth."
