論「能示能導得示導名」，釋名也。示謂顯示、教示之異名。導謂教導、引導之異名。

The Śāstra states: "Because they are able to reveal and guide, they receive the name guidance." This explains the name. "Revealing" is an alternate name for showing and instructing. "Guiding" is an alternate name for directing and leading.
