27.58

論「斷圓德至并習斷」，開果圓德中第二斷圓德為四：初斷與二乘同，三乘無學同斷一切煩惱故。此異菩薩也。二一切定障斷者，簡異菩薩、二乘。無量三摩地，菩薩、二乘不得故。三畢竟斷者，顯不退。四并習斷者，明二無知盡。

On the Śāstra's 'Consummate virtue of abandonment... abandonment together with residual traces': this expands the second consummate virtue of abandonment within the consummate virtue of fruit into four: first, abandonment shared with the two vehicles, because those beyond training in the three vehicles equally abandon all defilements. This distinguishes it from bodhisattvas. Second, abandonment of all obstacles to concentration, which sets it apart from bodhisattvas and the two vehicles, because bodhisattvas and the two vehicles cannot attain the immeasurable samādhis. Third, ultimate abandonment, indicating non-retrogression. Fourth, abandonment together with residual traces, clarifying the exhaustion of the two forms of ignorance.
