論「謂別有喜至其體各異」，外人答也。謂上座部計別有喜是心所法，而不是受。三定中樂皆是喜受，故喜、喜受其體各異。

On the Śāstra's phrase: "They say there is a separate joy [...] their entities are distinct from each other": the outsider replies. They mean that the Sthaviras hold that there is a distinct joy (prīti) that is a mental factor (caitta), but is not a sensation (vedanā). The bliss in the third dhyāna is in all cases the sensation of joy; therefore joy and the sensation of joy are distinct entities from each other.
