29.156

論「若眼識起至由二緣故」，破眼識了我及色，違三經。此違二緣生識經也。經云二緣生眼識者，謂眼及色。不言三緣，眼、色、我也。

The treatise says: "If visual consciousness arises... due to two conditions." This refutes [the claim that] visual consciousness cognizes the self and visible form, as it contradicts three sūtras. This contradicts the sūtra stating that consciousness arises from two conditions. The sūtra says that two conditions give rise to visual consciousness, namely the eye and visible form. It does not mention three conditions: the eye, visible form, and the self.
