論「眼等前八至三無漏故」，釋十一根定無異熟。無異熟有二義：一無記故、二無漏故。眼等八根唯有一義，謂無記故，無無漏也。三無漏根唯有一義，謂無漏故，無無記也。雖有定無異熟之義，不兼二故，不越次說，於第二說定無異熟。

The treatise says: "The former eight, the eye and so on up to because the three are uncontaminated"—this explains that the eleven faculties definitely have no vipāka. Having no vipāka has two criteria: first, being indeterminate; second, being uncontaminated. The eight faculties, eye and so forth, have only one criterion, namely being indeterminate, not being uncontaminated. The three uncontaminated faculties have only one criterion, namely being uncontaminated, not being indeterminate. Although they possess the status of definitely having no vipāka, because they do not combine both criteria, they are not spoken of out of sequence, but are stated second as definitely having no vipāka.
