「論曰至定染污故」，此明欲界三生。初生唯得二異熟根，爾時雖有意、捨二根，唯染污故非異熟根，異熟意根無法前得。漸具根者無眼等四及女、男也。

"The commentary says [...] because they are definitely defiled." This clarifies the three modes of birth in the desire realm. At initial birth, they acquire only two maturation faculties; at that time, although they possess the two faculties of mind and equanimity, because they are exclusively defiled, they are not maturation faculties, as a maturation mind-faculty has no prior acquisition before the dharma. Those whose faculties are gradually completed lack the four [faculties] such as the eye, as well as the female and male [faculties].
