論「中間二果至九根所得」，自此已下釋中二果，先總釋根數、後一一別釋。此即初也。

The treatise says: "The middle two fruits ... are attained by nine faculties." From here down, it explains the two middle fruits: first generally explaining the number of faculties, and subsequently explaining each one separately. This is the first.
