論「所以者何至由九根得」，釋第二果。於中有三：一依世道由七根得、二依出世道由八根得、三依超越由九根得。

The treatise says: "Why is this? ... it is attained by nine faculties." This explains the second fruit. Within this there are three [cases]: first, relying on the worldly path, it is attained by seven faculties; second, relying on the supramundane path, it is attained by eight faculties; third, relying on bypassing (transcendence), it is attained by nine faculties.
