3.83

論「又世尊說至品類觀察」，論主引第二經證通有漏。信等五根若唯無漏，如何實知是集沒、味、過患，此之四行觀有漏故。集能招苦，沒沈沒處，味愛味處，過患是苦，出離是在滅。餘文可解。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Furthermore, the World-Honoured One said […] examination according to categories": The author of the treatise cites a second sutra to prove that they extend to being sāsrava. If the five faculties such as faith were solely anāsrava, how could one truly know their origination, cessation, gratification, and peril, since these four aspects contemplate what is sāsrava? Origination can bring about suffering; cessation is the place of submergence; gratification is the place of attachment; peril is suffering; and departure lies in cessation [of suffering].
