「論曰唯一命根定是異熟」，此定宗也。二十二根中，唯一命根定是異熟。「唯」，遮更通餘根。「定」，遮通非異熟。

On the Śāstra's statement: "The life faculty alone is definitely vipāka": This establishes the thesis. Among the twenty-two faculties, the life faculty alone is definitely vipāka. "Alone" excludes its extending to the other faculties. "Definitely" excludes its extending to non-vipāka.
