論「彼如是言至假立我名」，論主破云。若如汝所說，我為二依，如地與香等為所依者，香等依於地，四外無別地；心、行依於我，二外無別我。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Such a statement of theirs [...] is merely a conventional designation of the name 'self'": The author of the treatise refutes it, saying: If, as you say, the self is the basis of the two, just as earth is the basis for odor and so forth, then since odor and so forth rely on earth, there is no earth apart from the four; and since mind and dispositions rely on the self, there is no self apart from the two.
