論「若實無我至罪福生長」，外道難也。若無我者，唯蘊生因名作業者、受苦樂者。諸非情亦有損益等事，因何不說罪、福生長？

On the Śāstra's statement, "If there is truly no self... how do demerit and merit grow?": the non-Buddhist objects. If there is no self, only the causes of the arising of the skandhas are called the performer of karma and the experiencer of pleasure and pain. Inanimate things also have matters such as harm and benefit; why is it not said that demerit and merit grow [from them]?
