30.58

論「若謂實有至墮惡見處故」，又敘彼計也。以契經言諦故、住故。定執無我者，墮惡見處故。故知有我，若執無我，墮惡見故。

On the Śāstra's: "If it is said that [the self] really exists ... because of falling into the place of wrong views": This again recounts their position. Because the sūtra states: "As real, as abiding... those who resolutely cling to non-self fall into the place of wrong views." Thus they know that a self exists, because clinging to non-self causes one to fall into wrong views.
