30.73

論「若謂決定至去解脫遠」，論主難也。若謂決定有真實我，此我微細，佛智最勝，觀此我時最明了見。既見我已便起我見，乃至我愛所縛，便為謗佛，去解脫遠。文中先出過，次引教，後結成也。

On the Śāstra's: "If it is said that there is definitely ... far removed from liberation": The author of the Śāstra objects. If it is said that there definitely exists a real self, this self would be subtle, and when the Buddha's wisdom, which is supreme, contemplates this self, it would see it most clearly. Having seen the self, a view of self would then arise, leading up to being bound by attachment to the self; this would slander the Buddha and be far removed from liberation. In the text, he first points out the fault, next cites scripture, and finally concludes.
