論「此顯有法至說名無愧」，論主答也。此顯無愧別有體性，非是無明亦非邪見，與二為因，名為無愧。即是無愧與邪見無明為因，令雖見不怖、或不見彼怖。

The Śāstra says: "This indicates that there is a dharma […] is called lack of modesty." The author of the Śāstra answers. This indicates that lack of modesty has a distinct intrinsic nature; it is neither ignorance nor wrong view, but acts as a cause for both, and is called lack of modesty. That is, lack of modesty serves as a cause for wrong view and ignorance, causing one to not fear despite seeing, or to not see that fear.
