4.147

論「有餘師說至說名無愧」，述異說也。此師意說：造罪之時，觀自無恥是無慚相，觀他無恥是無愧相。無恥是同，就自、他別。

The Śāstra says: "Other masters say […] is called lack of modesty." This relates an alternative explanation. This master means: at the time of committing a sin, regarding oneself without shame is the characteristic of lack of shame (āhrīkya); regarding others without shame is the characteristic of lack of modesty (anapatrāpya). The absence of shame is identical; they differ with respect to self and other.
