論「除初剎那至皆成擇滅」，釋定成擇滅。「除初剎那」者，謂苦法忍。「具縛聖者」，簡先離染。「及餘一切具縛異生者」，簡具縛異生未成擇滅，未斷惑故。「諸餘有情」者，舉成擇滅人也，已斷惑故。

[On the passage in] the treatise, from "Except for the first moment" to "all possess pratisamkhyā-nirodha": This explains definitive possession of pratisaṃkhyā-nirodha. "Except for the first moment" refers to the patience of the dharma of suffering (duḥkhe dharma-jñāna-kṣānti). "The noble ones who have all fetters" excludes those who were previously free from passion. "And all other ordinary worldlings who have all fetters" excludes ordinary worldlings with all fetters who have not yet possessed pratisaṃkhyā-nirodha, because they have not yet severed defilements. "All other sentient beings" designates those who possess pratisaṃkhyā-nirodha, because they have already severed defilements.
