論「若言住相至令無再用」，又遮難也。若言住相同其生相不再用者，理亦不同。法生不可更生，生相無其再生；法住可令更住，如何住相不令再住？

On the treatise passage: "If it is said that the characteristic of staying … causes it not to function again": they further refute the objection. If it is said that the characteristic of staying, like the characteristic of arising, does not function a second time, the principle is not the same. Once a phenomenon has arisen it cannot arise again, so the characteristic of arising does not have repeated arising; but once a phenomenon stays it can be made to stay longer, so why should the characteristic of staying not make it stay again?
