論「兩釋俱通已如前辨」，答也。聖教中言業之異熟，即是異熟之因。聖教中言異熟生眼，即是異熟即因。由有二文，義兼兩釋。

The treatise says: "Both explanations are admissible, as already distinguished above." This is the answer. When the holy teachings speak of the "maturation of karma," that is the cause of maturation. When the holy teachings speak of the "eye born of maturation," that is maturation being itself the cause. Because both textual passages exist, the meaning encompasses both explanations.
