論「豈不先問至開顯自性」，經部責也。前〈界品〉中問「云何擇滅？謂是離繫。」今此中問「云何離繫？云是擇滅。」於此自性竟不能顯。

[When] the treatise [states]: "Did [we] not previously ask ... disclose its intrinsic nature?" the Sautrāntika reproaches them: "Previously, in the 'Chapter on the Elements' (Dhātunirdeśa), it was asked: 'What is cessation through deliberation? It is disjunction.' Now, here it is asked: 'What is disjunction? It is cessation through deliberation.' In the end, you are incapable of disclosing its intrinsic nature."
