論「此法自性至亦名離繫」，有部釋也。擇滅無為，言不可詮，但可方便說是善，簡虛空、非擇滅；是常，簡異餘有為法。顯其自性名為擇滅，亦名離繫。

[When] the treatise [states]: "The intrinsic nature of this dharma ... is also termed disjunction," the Vaibhāṣika explains: "The unconditioned cessation through deliberation cannot be expressed in words; it can only be expediently stated to be wholesome—distinguishing it from space and cessation independent of deliberation (apratisaṃkhyānirodha)—and to be permanent, distinguishing it from all other conditioned dharmas. Disclosing its intrinsic nature, it is termed cessation through deliberation, and also termed disjunction."
