論「且初能作因相云何」，此下第二依名別釋。因體不同，分為六段。將釋初因，故先問也。頌答可知。

On the Śāstra's statement: "First, what is the characteristic of the efficient cause?": below this is the second section, explaining them individually according to their names. Because the essences of the causes are different, they are divided into six sections. Intending to explain the first cause, it therefore asks first. The verse reply is understandable.
