7.59

論「如是諸緣至而興作用」，第二四緣果至何位而能興也，不明取果。准《正理論》意，與果但是功能。此名作用者，即說功能為作用也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "To what stage do the fruits of such conditions reach ... so that they can perform their activity?": the second [section clarifies] at what stage the fruits of the four conditions can perform their activity; it does not clarify the grasping of fruits. According to the intention of the Nyāyānusāra, giving a fruit is merely an efficacy. Calling it an "activity" here is simply stating that efficacy is activity.
