The treatise says: "The entire world... arisen from a single cause." This concludes the orthodox [position] and refutes the heterodox. All dharmas of the entire world arise from the six causes and four conditions explained above. It is not as the ash-smearing heterodox claim, positing that Īśvara is the creator and so forth capable of generating all dharmas. It is not as the Vaiśeṣika heterodox claim, positing that the self is a real entity capable of being the creator and generator. It is not as the Sāṃkhya claim, positing that primordial nature (prakṛti), also called the supreme nature (pradhāna), is the cause of all dharmas. They are not produced from such single causes.
